Before the fanfare in the release of Walmart's subscription in 2020, we first had to ideate alongside the retailer's eCommerce partners to roll out what would become one of the best grocery shopping service in the world. What we sought to accomplish with Walmart + was simple: create the single best customer and user experience (UX) in eCommerce. Our approach in designing this program involved tailoring the interface for users looking to spend less time browsing and more time saving money. That meant valuing convenience and clarity for customers through a layout made to shop with ease.
To help deliver a streamlined way to purchase groceries amid growing eCommerce demand presented both a challenge and a great opportunity to us. Every user experience agency knows the most important aspect of any web design undertaking is to create something with the consumer in mind. And by marketing and launching a new program to help Walmart customers find better ways to shop and save, we knew the focus needed to be placed on the overall shopping experience.
Tying Walmart’s extensive features to the Walmart + subscription service was the second-most important task. In purposely directing users’ attention to the eCommerce shopping service, we also clearly organized Walmart +’s perks for accessible use.
Together with Walmart’s advertising and marketing agency, we blended an intuitive user experience and a remarkable upgrade in grocery shopping in one great service.
